Bible Study

New offerings for Adult Bible Study are as follows:

Romans: The Gospel of Salvation - New from Jeff Cavins and Ascension Press
Paul's letter to the Romans has been at the center of reflection, conversion, and controversy from the very beginning. Romans: The Gospel of Salvation provides an authentically Catholic, comprehensive and simple way to understand the overarching theme of Romans -salvation. Romans: The Gospel of Salvation explores the ways in which Jesus is the fulfillment of Israel's prophecies, which leads to the universal, "Catholic" family of God.

This study will meet on Wednesdays, beginning 9/25, for 8 sessions, in the Holy Family Center 1, from 7:00-8:30pm. Cost for materials will be $28.00.

Exodus: Called to Freedom
When God called Israel out of slavery in Egypt and to a life of freedom as his people, it was the defining moment in Israel's history. Exodus: Called to Freedom looks through the lens of Christ and the Church to show that, more than just seeking to free his people from the domination of Pharaoh, God desired to free his people from the far more dangerous grip of sin. Presenter Tim Gray explains how the Exodus story is not just Israel's story, but our story as well because it reveals who God is and what he calls us to be. Learn how a proper understanding of Exodus can illuminate one's understanding of the Christina Faith.

This study will meet on Saturdays, beginning on 9/28, for 10 sessions, in the Rectory Meeeting Room from 10:00-11:30am. Cost for materials will be $25.00.

The form to sign up for Romans and Exodus is here. Forms must be returned with payment before materials can be ordered. Please respond ASAP.

The following are new additions to our Adult Bible Study offerings:

Seven Deadly Sins / Seven Lively Virtues
Counteract the seven deadly sins with the "seven lively virtues" to discover the right path to healing and happiness. This series from Bishop Robert Baron and Word On Fire Press presents each deadly sin and how each one can be tamed by cultivating a corresponding virtue. Bishop Baron suggests that this can be particularly useful when examining the conscience prior to Reconciliation. See how the virtues can become antidotes to sin thus leading to happiness.

This study will meet on Mondays, beginning on 10/14, for 8 session, in the HFC 1, from 10:00-11:30am. Cost for materials will be $15.00.

33 Days to Morning Glory
Today people are living busy and challenging lives; this retreat experience offers people a quick and easy way to withdraw from the demands of life and enter into a peaceful interior reflection on their relationship with Christ. We begin with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, because Mary leads us to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The goal of this program is to lead us to formally entrust ourselve to Mary, as Christ did at the Annunciation and as he willed for His disciples to do at he foot of the cross.

This study will meet on Thursdays, beginning on 10/31, for 6 sessions, in HFC 1, from 1:00-3:00pm. Cost for materials will be $15.00.

The form to sign up for Seven Deadly Sins / Seven Lively Virtues and 33 Days to Morning Glory is here. Forms must be returned with payment before materials can be ordered. Please respond ASAP.
