Petition to change HHS Mandate

Late last month, the Federal Government, through the Health and Human Services Department, announced that it was mandating that all employer healthcare insurance plans provide coverage for procedures which violate the beliefs of the Catholic Church, and Catholic institutions.

Basically, the new rules require the Catholic Church, and the institutions operating faithfully under the aegis of the Church, to provide coverage for contraceptive drugs and procedures. This requirement violates the beliefs of the Church.

Ash Wednesday

We have Mass with Distribution of Ashes at 7:00am, 8:10am with the school, 4:45pm and 7pm. We will also have a Prayer Service with Distribution of Ashes at 12:10pm.

Keep in mind that all Fridays during Lent are days of abstaining from meat, which binds those fourteen years and older. In addition, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of both abstaining from meat and fasting. Fasting binds those eighteen years through fifty-nine years old.

Through Lent, please consider attending our Monday Evening Mass at 6:30pm, Evening Prayer with Eucharistic Benediction on Thursdays at 6:30pm, and Stations of the Cross on Fridays at 7:00pm.

There will be a Lenten Communal Penance Service at St. John Neumann's on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
