Seven Sisters Apostolate
Praying for our Priests
"In strengthening the priest, you strengthen the whole Church..."
- Fr. Gerald Fitzgerald, s.P., Founder
Handmaids of the Precious Blood
Pop Francis has consecrated 2024 as the Year of Prayer, and it's a perfect time to invite all women to consider joining in the mission of the Seven Sisters Apostolate. The Seven Sisters Apostolate is "a call to strengthen the church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop - a 'holy wasting' (cf. Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ." As a spiritual sister, we emulate Mary's fidelity in "hidden" support of her Divine Son as the first and most perfect disciple.
An apostolate consists of seven wormen who each commit to a different day of the week to offer one Holy Hour on that day for a particular priest. We give this gift for a year's time. We currently have two groups of women, one praying for Fr. Andy and the other praying for Fr. Kevin. We have also prayed for Fr. Joe over the past year and a half until his transfer. We are now seeking women to form additional groups to pray a weekly Holy Hour for Fr. Greg and Fr. Arnold. We need fourteen woment (seven women for each priest) in order to cover each day of the week. "One Holy Hour/One Priest/Each Week/One Heart of Prayer."
